WHY DID THE RANGERS START A REC LEAGUE?
The Pueblo Rangers Rec League was created due to requests by parents, coaches and players who wanted something more from a soccer organization. They wanted more competition in a fair environment in which the teams were not micromanaged by the organization and a more structured setting where coaches and players could grow and learn a love for the game. Thus, in the fall of 2004 the Pueblo Rangers Rec League was created. The league is administered by a recreational committee under the authority of he Board of Directors of the Pueblo Rangers Soccer Club. WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF JOINING THE RANGERS? Office with regular posted hours Web site Administered by a Board of Directors Club Coach dedicated to the recreational teams More freedom to coach and play Access to local and state recreational tournaments. Access to all club facilities and equipment. HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO JOIN THE RANGERS REC LEAGUE? Current costs are $45/player + $35 for the Ranger Uniform DO THE REC TEAMS TRAVEL? NO! All rec games are played at the Langoni Sports complex at 24th and High St. CAN I BRING IN A FULL TEAM? YES! At the early ages of play keeping the same team together is encouraged and allowed. It makes it less stressful for the players and logistically easier for parents and car pooling. Full teams are welcome to join the Rangers. HOW MANY PLAYERS CAN I HAVE ON A TEAM U-5 TO U-7 Teams play 5v5(4 field players and a keeper) on A 30x50 field. Recommended team size is: 7-9. The game is played as 4 x12min. periods with a 5 min half time. Substitutions may be only made at the end of a period. U-8 and above play 8v8(7 field players and a keeper) on A 50x80 field. The recommended team size is 12-14. The game is played as 2 x 25min periods with a 5 min. half time. Substitutions may be made on: your team's throw in, a goal kick, restart from the mid line or to replace an injured player.
