HOTEL LIASION

Develop list of Pueblo and surrounding area hotels with address and phone number. These are hotels that we can in good faith recommend for players and their families. Do not include hotels with existing problems with residents (ie extended stay hotels with known drug use/ illegal activity etc) Put disclaimer on list that these are the only hotels in Pueblo that we recommend players stay at.

Secure about 25 hotel rooms to be used for referees. Have at least 2 different choices for hotels (Motel 6 is a favorite) and then a few rooms at a nicer hotel. Try to get discounted rates for the referees at the nicer hotels. This actually should be done at the end of the tournament for the following year to ensure availability of rooms.

Contact the Chamber to let them know who you are. They are very helpful. Many teams will contact them regarding hotels. Make sure you give them the website – and let them know we will post vacancies when we identify them for Pueblo Hotels.

Contact Pueblo hotels through their monthly meetings and distribute “Hotel Information Sheet”. This is a list of information that they should collect on all teams making reservations. It helps them determine if the teams they have registered are on the accepted team list.

Make available the list of “accepted teams” to the hotels so they can verify that their reservations are for attending teams. Website would work for this.

Give your contact name to the hotels so they can contact you when they have vacancies. Give them the website for the hotel lists. Have these vacancies posted on the website. Have all teams referred to the website. (You may need to remind the chamber of this)
