SUNBELT CLASSIC

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS!

Why was I moved to Gold when we requested Silver?  Since the CYS Spring Assignments will have been completed we are following those assignments.  Premier level teams are in Gold, Classic in Silver and Challenge in Bronze.  If you requested Silver, but you will be playing in Premier – you were moved to Gold.  We may allow teams to play up upon their request, but not down.

Medical Release Forms – are required for ALL players, but do not need to be notarized.  Forms are available on the CYS website: www.csysa.org or on our Registration Forms page.

Acceptance Packet – will be e-mailed shortly after Registration Deadline.  It includes the intro letter, tournament rules, and Sunbelt Rosters.

Check-In – A credential Check-In is required for ALL teams.  It will be available by mail or Friday before the tournament.  You must have the following for each team: 2 copies of the Sunbelt Roster, 1 copy of the Guest Player Roster, State Roster and, and the following to show for each player:  laminated player card,  and signed medical release form.  Coaches cards are also required for each coach.  Out of State Teams are required to have permission to travel papers also (See the tournament Rules for paper work needed for out of state teams.)  .

Where is Check-In: To be determined:  We will have the trophies on display, award the Referee of the Year – and have T-shirts for sale.  Check-in by mail is also available.  See below.

Mail-In Check-In: By sending down copies of the paperwork – you can avoid coming down Friday Night for the usual Credential Check-in.  You can Fed-Ex, UPS, or Express Mail 2 copies of the Sunbelt Roster, a copy of your Guest Roster and State Roster, and a copy of each player’s medical release and player card.  It is recommended to photocopy the player card on top of the medical release to save paper.  And you can copy one player on front and one player on back to save even more paper.  We must have all paperwork by Tuesday before the tournament.  Then the morning of the tournament, stop in at the Tournament Headquarters (location to be determined) and pick up your approved roster and coaches pack.

How many guest players?  4 per team (3 for U10).  Players may not play down.  In other words – a Bronze team may not have Premier level players as guest players.  High School Girls Bracket (if created) will be exempt from the guest player limit.

Awards:  We will be awarding custom trophies to the 1st and 2nd place team in each division.  We will award medals to players and coaches of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams in each division.   In the case of one age/bracket being too large it will be split into two separate divisions (U11 Boys Gold A  and U11 Boys Gold B)  These divisions are treated separate and awards are given for each division.  The championship game will consist of the two teams with the top points in the Division.  Third place is awarded solely on points.  Medals and Trophies will not be shipped.  See Tournament Rules for complete rules.

Red Cards/Yellow Cards/Sit Outs  etc.  We are a CSYSA registered Tournament – all sit outs will be enforced.  All yellow/red cards will be reported to CSYSA and follow to the Spring Season.

Ref Tents – Are OFF limits to everyone.

Are dogs allowed? Due to restrictions at some of the sites, and problems in the past we have a “No Dogs” policy.   With the volume of people and safety concerns, we greatly appreciate your help with this issue.

Smoking: Per state law, all schools have a no tobacco policy on all grounds (this does include parking lots).  This is a state law and completely beyond our control.  There is no smoking on the fields at 24th Street.
