PUEBLO RANGERS SOCCER CLUB

The mission of the Pueblo Rangers Soccer Club is to provide access to competitive, developmental and recreational soccer programs with multiple age and skill levels, including programs for children with special needs in the Southern Colorado region.  In addition to providing access to a high quality soccer program, the organization hopes to instill in the players the ideals of fair play, respect for themselves and others.  We hope to engage other groups who have similar interests to help soccer grow in Pueblo at all levels.  Finally, we must always remember that we are in this for the kids.

The Pueblo Rangers organization was founded in 1982 by a group of individuals who had a dream of developing soccer in Pueblo to be competitive with others across the state and the nation. A Board of Directors was formed by team representation and they worked to develop club uniforms, structured try-outs, fundraising activities and the development of soccer fields and our club newsletter.

From 1982 to 1995, league games were played primarily at local high school fields. In 1993, an official presentation of $10,000 was made to the City of Pueblo for the development of a soccer complex. In the spring of 1996, we had four complete fields at the 24th Street “Langoni” Complex.

In 2002 the Pueblo Rangers added U-9 and U-10 Intermediate league soccer to assist young players with the transition from playing soccer recreationally, to advanced league soccer. The Club also added professional soccer education. In December 2003, the Rangers hired a professional Director of Coaching to direct and educate our coaching staff and work in southern Colorado to advance the sport of soccer. Today, our competitive players receive advanced level training from licensed coaches as well as sessions from our Technical Director and Finishing Friday training to provide an extra layer of skill advancement.

In the fall of 2004, at the request of local teams, the Rangers added a Recreational Soccer Program for ages 3 - 12 and then the following Spring, the organization pioneered the concept of Middle School Soccer for 6th to 8th grade students. The Middle School league resulted in the addition of 20 teams from Pueblo's Middle Schools.

What had started with just 1 team in the early development of the club, has transitioned to more than 160 teams and approximately 1500 players with boys and girls teams in every age group in our Recreational and Competitive Programs.

The Pueblo Rangers will continue to enhance the soccer experience of Pueblo’s youth players and with the continued dedication of the new generation of board members and parents, we can look forward to expanding our soccer programs. In 2016 the Rangers introduced TOPSoccer. TOPSoccer is a nationwide program for children with special needs. It is funded by the Pueblo Rangers and donations from local business. TOPSoccer provides a real soccer experience for those children who would otherwise not be able to participate in standard soccer programs. This year we plan to expand our Recreational program, to include a High School Recreational Program, which will provide league play to those players that do not want to travel or commit to the Advanced League. Details of this new program will be available soon!

Our dedicated Board Members and Parent Volunteers are also looking to expand field accessibility in Pueblo. In July of 2017 we purchased 28 acres of land just south of the Cesar Chavez Academy on the north west side of the city. The site will be the new home for the Pueblo Rangers Soccer club including our administrative office and sports facilities. We need volunteers and sponsors to make this dream a reality. Please consider donating your time and joining one of our committee's!

We would like to express our gratitude to all of those who made all of this possible:

past and present officers, coaches and parents!
